The elixir's really for better braking cause the CR lever is actually heavier than the R lever because of the pad contact knob, but the elixir lever is a more solid design. with it you don't get any of that spongy feeling, it's an awesome combo that i don't see them changing. You guys are right sam runs a juicy ultimate lever with elixir caliper setup, it's really the lightest setup you can have and still get some good power. By the way keep an eye out for a very limited run of Sams green Demo 8 frame in march.
